Witheridge/Wetheridge Reunion

If you have Witheridge or Wetheridge ancestry, you're warmly invited to a Family Reunion, being held on 12 May 2018 in Biggin Hill, Kent. It should be a fun and informative occasion, with plenty of family memorabilia and the chance to meet other descendants.

On display will be extensive narrative pedigrees of 11 main branches of Witheridge and Wetheridge families, together with details of other family clusters. There will also be facsimile copies of wills, parish registers (including many post-1813 marriage entries), and almost 200 birth, marriage and death certificates, as well as other family documents and memorabilia. All those attending are invited to bring their own family documents and memorabilia. Experienced researchers will be on hand to answer questions on family history in general, and Witheridge/Wetheridge ancestry in particular.

Originally, the names Witheridge, Wetheridge, and other variant spellings, were interchangeable. Most family branches can be traced back to Devon, with unbroken lines recorded in documents dating from the 15th century. Since then, their descendants have scattered throughout the UK and far beyond.

The first Witheridge/Wetheridge Reunion was held in 1987, and there have been Reunions in the UK at least once a year since then, in counties including Gloucestershire, Kent, Devon, Sussex, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Wiltshire, Buckinghamshire and Somerset. This year's venue, Biggin Hill, Kent, is easily accessible from the M25 (Junctions 4, 5, & 6), the A21, A22 and A25, as well as via public transport.

There is no charge for admission. After the reunion, there will be an opportunity to attend a family meal in a local pub/restaurant. For those who wish to make the Reunion part of a weekend break, there are plenty of places of local interest, including Chartwell, former home of Winston Churchill, and Quebec House, former home of General Wolfe (both National Trust), in Westerham, and Down House, former home of Charles Darwin (English Heritage) in the village of Downe.

To RSVP or for further details of the Reunion, please email Witheridge 2018 Reunion.
