Witheridge Family History Society
2007 Australian Reunion

The Witheridge Picnic Day in Australia was held at Cataract Dam in NSW on May 20th and was enjoyed by all. If we were ever able to Oz Picnic 2007 (Click to enlarge) order it, the weather on that day was exactly right: sunny blue skies, dry and "cool-ish" after some welcome rain up to until the Friday before.

Thirty-six of us came together and caught up, some after many years, and it was good to hear "see you next year" as people left.

Oz Picnic 2007 (Click to enlarge) Prior to us having lunch, we had individual family photos taken, not all complete, but represented, and all originating from the marriage of Philemon Witheridge and Mary Carveth at Porthleven, Cornwall, in 1871. We are happy to share some of these with you.

After lunch, we had the cutting of the cake by Australian representatives past and present. The Cake then the reading of the Greeting from WFHS, kindly sent by Chairman Ron Dixon. Cutting the cake (Click to enlarge)

We thought of you at Bovey Tracey. Thank you for thinking of us.
