The site is/was created with text editors, Dreamweaver or other WYSIWYG editors have not been used.
Design criteria was to present a background photo with a minimal menu system (the opposite of most web pages) and to reduce the number of links, hopefully making the site easier to use and maintain.
The original code was HTML, then XHTML, now HTML5. This site also contains a Java script to display the
date/time.
The site does not use cookies, however some of the supporting applications do. The only cookie
associated with this site is from cloudflare. Cloudflare is a content delivery network that improves
website performance.
The software has been tested and is compatible with Firefox 65 IE 11 and Edge 44. There are however
some small browser dependent appearance differences.
The menu's do not work well in IE versions older than IE8. In Oct 2012 the CSS and some of the XHTML was rewritten to improve browser compatability. Essentially the browser version is checked and if necessary the CSS code is modified. Old browser access is a very small and decreasing percentage. There really is no excuse for using an old browser! Update, it's free!

The home page background picture can vary (easily) and is appropriate to the area/page. If you have any
suitable pictures please contact the site administrator.
Pictures should be of reasonably high resolution and clear of clutter in the top left corner where the
menus are.
